Spending winter holiday in the countryside, in a solitary bungalow was much boring. I looked out through the rear window, heavy snowfall was there, even the nearby oak forest was lost in the snow fall.

I increased the fire in the hearth, sat on my study table, newspaper says that communication to the northern part of the country is cut off because of the heavy snowfall through the national highways. The thought of four months of winter season made me to sigh.

My physics research department was closed for the winter season, working over there which I used to like more than anything else in this world.

The corner of a blue envelope attracted my attention, which was peeping out of a book in the rack. I removed it out, Oh!, it was a letter from my close friend, a wave of pain passed through my mind, by a glance at the letter. My friend who was a student of aeronautic engineering is recently being diagnosed as a carcinoma patient by St. Xavier’s Memorial Hospital. Poor enthusiastic fellow who used to be charmful always.

I looked at the clock, oh! 3 hours already passed, now I sensed fire in my stomach. Took lunch, eased myself on chair, turned on TV.

When I woke up after 2 hours my mind was a little bewildered by some thoughts, I had a very little knowledge about cancer, all that I was knowing was, the rapid proliferation of the body cells which jam the physiological process and lead to gravious disease.

My physics mind started to do peculiar calculation and now I could correlate the nuclear fission and proliferation of body cells. Furthermore all the substances present in the universe are made up of atoms and they should obey the rules of physics. I studied more about the cancer, I spent nearly 8 hours in a day in the Central Library, gathered all information about cancer. By the end of winter season I could arrive at my own conclusion of treating the disease based on physics. I set my work paper in orderly manner and wanted to show that to the doctors of the hospital ....(to be continued)
